THE EYES OF A DOCTOR

The eyes of a Doctor
so old yet strong
Watching over all his patients
weather old or incredibly young.
Observing his community
seeing what's right and what's the wrong
his old eyes are sinking
but he must see to go on.
He can see each one of us,
and what's blind to you and me.
We continue with our lifestyles
athough all knows he is true.
So why not please the old doctor
whose eyes can see you?

The eyes of doctor Doctor T. J. Eckleburg symbolizes God.  Religious or not religious, we are all aware that God or a "consious" figure watches our society.  We are aware of this yet, we continue with our routine lifestyles-weather good or bad.  In West Egg, the citizens are are of such, yet continue to live the lifestyles that thye live.
